12-year-old battling brain cancer; fund established to help family

The local Boys & Girls Club has established an account to benefit a member who is battling brain cancer.

When Nicole Myer, 12, began experiencing severe headaches and dizzy spells, her mother made an appointment with their doctor and took her in for a check-up.

That was last Monday, Sept. 28. Less than 24 hours later, on Tuesday, Sept. 29, Myer was at Shands Hospital undergoing surgery to remove a malignant brain tumor.
