Suspect arrested after chase, seven mile track

A 25-year-old Perry man led deputies on a high-speed chase Sunday night through a residential area–plowing over two fences in the process–before abandoning his vehicle and fleeing on foot.

Florida Department of Corrections (FDOC) K-9 teams tracked Travis Stephen Smith nearly seven miles before discovering him asleep in a car (not his) parked at a home on James Carlton Road.
