    $100,000 in grants will fund park upgrades, beach improvements

    The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) announced this week that it will invest more than $5.4 million in 110 recreational development projects in local communities around the state through its Florida Recreation Development Assistance Program (FRDAP), including two projects in Taylor County.

    The county received two $50,000 FRDAP grants this cycle for improvements to the Taylor County Sports Complex and the Steinhatchee Community Center Park. The county commission approved grant contracts with DEP last month and the funds are expected to be transferred in the near future.
