Should FSA test results determine school grades?

The Florida Department of Education (DOE) has released preliminary scores from last spring’s Florida State Assessment (FSA), prompting renewed calls against using the results to determine schools’ grades this year.

The results released last week show the percentage of students in each district who fell into one of four quartiles based on where they ranked against average student scores statewide. The numbers are not broken down by grade or school, but do provide a basic comparison, district to district.
