Airbag triggered

Witnesses said the driver of this vehicle collapsed on the ground after managing to get out of his seat without aid. He was transported to Doctors’ Memorial Hospital.

A second vehicle, a truck, apparently involved in the crash sustained major damage to its rear bumper. The car, above, dived into the median and crashed head-on with a line of safety posts. No offical details regarding the crash were available as of presstime. The wreck happened on Highway 19 Thursday at 10:25 a.m., about a quarter of a mile south of Beach Road.
