Key committee appointment announced for Southerland

House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Chairman Bill Shuster announced this week that he has appointed Rep. Steve Southerland II, whose district includes Taylor County, to serve as vice chairman of the Subcommittee on Coast Guard and Maritime Transportation for the 113th Congress.

Southerland’s new role will enhance his leadership for Florida on Coast Guard, ports and maritime issues in Congress, he said.
