BioNitrogen files for bankruptcy

BioNitrogen Holdings, Corp., filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization Tuesday, citing $3.5 million in debts, while its local affiliate still owes $4.35 million on a bank loan guaranteed by the City of Perry.

The company, through its affiliate BioNitrogen Plant FL Taylor, LLC, has been working for more than a year to construct a reported $300 million urea fertilizer plant here.
