B&G Club celebrates 25 years of service

Twenty-five years ago a grieving mother found a purpose and took a stand for Taylor County’s youth.

Her goal was to establish a positive place for kids and to do that, Gale Dorsett Dickert turned to the Boys & Girls Club of America.

Like-minded community supporters joined her efforts and a local chapter was born.

Photo: Gale Dickert was praised for her key role in the establishment of the Boys & Girls Club of Taylor County. Today, the club serves more than 300 youth monthly.
