The Southern Pines BBQ Festival returns for its eighth year featuring four barbecue contests and 15 hours of live music.

The two-day festival will take place Friday and Saturday, Dec. 11-12, at Forest Capital State Park.

This year, the music selections are expanding beyond blues to also include a wide variety of rock and country.
