House fire on High Street

An estimated 100-year-old, two-story home on High Street was gutted by fire Tuesday morning. The State Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the blaze.

City of Perry Fire Department Capt. Robert Campbell said the home was unoccupied. “It appears the fire began on the ground floor and traveled up the stairs to the second floor,” he said.
