Sailor welcomed home

The Hamilton family is celebrating an extra special blessing this Christmas—the return of son Marcus Hamilton Jr. from a nine-month deployment with the U.S. Navy.

Hamilton’s brothers and sisters, along with his father, Marcus Sr., were waiting for him at his ship’s pier in Norfolk, Va., as he disembarked. The day of his return also marked another milestone for the 2014 Taylor County High School graduate: his promotion to 3rd class petty officer. Hamilton is married to Herbreka M. Jackson-Hamilton and is the son of Raynette McCarty of Daytona and Marcus Hamilton Sr. of Perry.
