The Taylor County Commission has jumped into the growing statewide debate over the use of fracking to search for oil and gas in Florida, passing–in a divided 3-2 vote–a resolution supporting a statewide ban on the process.
The Florida Legislature is expected to consider a bill when its session begins next month to begin evaluating the use of fracking in the state. Part of the draft language would prohibit counties from banning fracking within their borders.
