BREAKING: Father, son charged in Strickland murder

A Third Judicial Circuit Grand Jury on Thursday, Jan. 21, returned indictments on Manden Whiddon and his father Rodney Whiddon in relation to the 2015 murder of Shelly Strickland, 50, of Perry.

According to the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office, Manden Whiddon was charged with murder in first degree while armed, armed burglary, dealing in stolen property and possession of a firearm by convicted felon.  Rodney Whiddon was charged with first degree murder while armed, armed burglary and possession of a firearm by convicted felon.  Rodney Whiddon was charged last June for dealing in stolen property in connection with this case.

In June 2015, Garrett Arrowood was indicted on charges of first degree capital murder, armed burglary and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and dealing in stolen property.
