Father, son charged in Strickland murder

Manden Whiddon turned 21 in prison one month before his release. Six weeks later he is alleged to have taken part in the murder of longtime educator Shelly Strickland.

On Thursday, a Taylor County Grand Jury indicted Whiddon and his father, Rodney, on capital charges related to Strickland’s June 24, 2015, shooting death.
