Grants funding 15 housing projects currently underway

With 15 grant-funded housing rehabilitation projects currently underway and two more expected to begin soon, there are a lot more hammers in action throughout Perry and Taylor County than normal.

According to County Grants Director Melody Cox, 12 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) housing projects are in progress, nine of which include the demolition of existing homes and the reconstruction of new structures. The other three homes are rehabilitation projects.
