County seeks grant to fund more upgrades

After a strong response from local residents seeking assistance through a $194,000 Residential Construction Mitigation Program grant received by Taylor County, commissioners have agreed to apply for a second grant from the program.

County Grants Director Melody Cox addressed the commission at its meeting last week, stating that her office has received a large number of calls, including nine calls that day alone, in reference to the program, which is administered by the Florida Division of Emergency Management’s Hurricane Loss Mitigation Program.
