Crash victim ‘a rare breed of man’

A 63-year-old Perry man, who moved here from Texas in August to be closer to his family, died Thursday, March 3, when his 2012 Suzuki Hayabusa crashed into a 2011 Ford F-250 as it was turning into the road leading to Cedar Island off County Road 361/ Beach Road.

William “Doug” French was pronounced dead at the scene. His family bid their final good-byes during a memorial service held Sunday.
