Senate, House green-lights new primary school here

After almost two years and two legislative sessions, it appears that the Taylor County School District will finally receive state funding to construct a new Perry Primary School.

On Tuesday afternoon, budget negotiators with the Florida House and Senate finalized their proposed $82.3 billion state budget–which includes $5.8 million for the local project. Now all that stands between Taylor County and the money are two legislative votes expected today (Friday, March 11) and Gov. Rick Scott’s veto pen.
