With a short one-sentence statement during Tuesday’s Taylor County School Board meeting, Superintendent of Schools Paul Dyal announced he would not seek re-election this year, leaving a third local race without an incumbent in the 2016 election cycle.
It came at the end of the relatively short meeting, with Dyal discussing a number of informational items with the board. He had just finished talking about the district receiving state funding to construct a new Perry Primary School (see related story), when he said, “And lastly, I’m
going to retire at the end of my term.”
