For Shelia Combs of Madison, a ritzy trip to Chicago and personal makeover before an appearance on the Steve Harvey Show combined to make her Mother’s Day in 2013 one that will not soon be forgotten.
Her daughter, Quiana Woodard of Perry, can be credited with all the glitz and glamour. “I learned about the Steve Harvey Show’s ‘Queen For a Day’ while looking through Facebook and submitted my mother’s name with a short paragraph about why she deserved this honor. That was on a Wednesday, after work, about 6 p.m. By Thursday afternoon, between 1 and 2 p.m., they were calling me.
