County officials are hopeful that a nearly six-year saga surrounding an Cedar Island abandoned home which is falling into increasing disrepair will soon reach its final chapter.

Neighboring property owners and the county’s own code enforcement officer have labeled the home, which is located at 105 Cedar Island Dr., a hazard to the community due to cracks in its pilings as well as a number of derelict boats underneath the structure.
