Fired trooper’s appeal delayed

Former Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) Trooper Charles Swindle will have to wait a few additional weeks before presenting evidence appealing his firing for apparently failing to issue a speeding ticket to a state legislator he clocked speeding.

Swindle was to appear before the state Public Employee Relations Committee (PERC) last Thursday, May 2; however, the Department of Highway Safety & Motor Vehicles successfully petitioned for a continuance in the case until May 29.
