Former Taylor County High coach Smith joins Gators’ support staff

Former Taylor County High head football coach Ryan Smith has joined the University of Florida support staff under Gator Head Coach Jim McElwain, it was announced recently.

Smith, 39, spent last season as a support staffer for Coach Nick Saban at the University of Alabama. Prior to that he served as defensive coordinator at Chickasaw (Ala.) High for one season under former Godby High coach Ronnie Cottrell.
