Suspicious package brings bomb squad to town, State Fire Marshal investigating

The State Marshal’s Office Bomb Squad was called to an empty building on U.S. 19 in Perry due to a suspicious package Tuesday afternoon.

According to Taylor County Fire-Rescue Chief Dan Cassel, deputies with the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office were the first to arrive at the location, known locally as the former home of a pawn shop.
