Murder suspects arrested

A manhunt that spanned the country ended 2,400 miles away Thursday, March 17, with the arrest of a 20-year-old Ohio man and his 17-year-old girlfriend, both charged for the murder of a Steinhatchee man missing since late January.

Douglas Lee Mihal and the unidentified juvenile, also of Ohio, are awaiting extradition from Bakersfield, Calif., to face first degree murder and grand theft auto charges. (California law enforcement officials do not release the names of juveniles facing felonies until they have been formally charged in adult court.)
