Hampton refutes allegations; employees stand behind statements

Veteran public works director Barney Johnson has seen council members come and council members go during his 42-year career with the City of Perry.

“I have never dealt with anybody like Shirlie Hampton. I have never had any problem with any city council (member) except Shirlie. I have never dealt with one who wants to interfere with what we’re doing like she does,” Johnson said.
