You likely know one of this year’s ‘25 Women You Need to Know’

Glenda Hamby was in good company Monday night, surrounded by female leaders from the greater Tallahassee area who were hailed for excellence as the Tallahassee Democrat’s “25 Women You Need to Know” for 2016.

For the reception, Hamby surrounded herself with friends from Taylor and Leon counties—“people who helped me along the way,” she said. From Perry, she was applauded by Judy Helm, Evelyn Daniel and Jimmie Bennett, as well as Greg and Pam Parker. “I taught Greg and Pam, and now they’re part of my church family,” she said. “Evelyn and I taught together, and now we play bridge together.” Her Tallahassee friends included Helene Linn and Kelley Ausley. “But I saw a number of my former students in the audience—like Marsha Glickman Doll and Rick Swearingen,” she said. “And Mike Wood was there.”
