Tickets available for upcoming banquet

Tickets are on sale now for the Taylor County Historical Society’s third annual banquet planned Saturday, May 7, at the Perry Elks Lodge, starting at 6 p.m.

The event will feature special presentations and displays in honor of Taylor County’s 160th founding anniversary. Some members will be dressed in period gowns and uniforms to add a “living history” element to the evening, President J.T. Davis said.

Tickets are $20 each ($15 for members) and must be purchased in advance by Monday, May 2.

“We will auction #1 and #160 of the limited edition prints of the Bloodworth building we currently have available for pre-purchase. We are taking orders for the prints now and the original artwork will be unveiled during Founders’ Day (April 23),” Davis said.
