Williams will not seek sixth term

L.E. “Bummy” Williams announced Wednesday he will not be seeking a sixth term as Taylor County sheriff.

“This was a decision (my wife) June and I made together. My age certainly is a factor…there are some things we have not done that we’d like to do. We want to travel a little and it’s a good time to do it now before we get down and can’t go,” Williams said.
