Former emergency management director announces candidacy for sheriff’s office

Former Taylor County Emergency Management Director Roy Dennis Woods has announced his candidacy for sheriff.

“Upon learning of Sheriff (L.E. “Bummy”) Williams’ decision to retire, and after deliberating for several days, I made the decision to withdraw from the superintendent of schools race and seek the sheriff’s office,” Woods said.
