Owl rescued

Taylor County Animal Control had a departure from its normal call log this week–officers rescued a bard owl that has now found a home with the Florida Wildlife Association.

“A man called and reported he found an owl sitting on the ground next to the edge of the woods,” animal control’s Heather Jensen said. “We did not find any obvious injuries and the owl was surprisingly tame, as if it was used to being handled by humans.”
