Duke Energy’s new five-megawatt Perry Solar Facility is beginning to take shape, with work crews installing the support structures that will eventually hold 22,000 solar panels.
The facility, which is being constructed on 22 acres of utility-owned land off of Green Street adjacent to Taylor County Elementary School (TCES), will be roughly the size of 17 football fields. Company officials have said work is expected to be completed by July.
