Cochran wins boat, motor, trailer

When Optimist Club board member Danny Everett, right, called Sunday to tell Wayne Cochran he had won a new boat, motor and trailer, he had to leave a message–Cochran had gone fishing. The Perry man bought 12 tickets for the annual drawing sponsored by the Optimist Club of Perry, with the winning ticket purchased at Ragans Ace Hardware.

“I had to come up here for something, so I bought four tickets that time. I had to come back, and bought another four tickets. Then I was at Tractor Supply and this little girl was selling them, so I bought four more,” Cochran said, who picked up the boat Tuesday. He is shown at the wheel along with Optimists Keith Ragans, left, and Feebee Houck.
