Retired deputy, wife pinned in truck, both airlifted to hospital

Retired Taylor County Sheriff’s Office sergeant Elco James, 78, and his wife, Juanita, 63, were both airlifted from the scene of a violent one-vehicle crash Saturday evening, May 14.

A grandchild traveling with the couple was also airlifted to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. A second grandchild was transported to Doctors’ Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. A third grandchild was not injured in the crash.
