Thursday afternoon, all the i’s were dotted and t’s crossed in a plea agreement between the state and murder suspect Manden Whiddon that would have reduced his first degree murder charge to accessory after the fact and guaranteed him a 20-year prison sentence.
Some 18 hours later, Friday morning, Whiddon had a new attorney, rejected the plea offer and was once again facing a possible life sentence without the possibility of parole.
