Just as scallopers were out in force this past holiday weekend, so were Florida Fish & Wildlife Commission (FWC) officers. Lt. Chuck Mincy reported that, following a tip from a Steinhatchee resident, officers inspected a group and found they had 12 gallons over their daily limit of scallops.
Officers issued citations to the offenders and the (overage) scallops were returned to the water alive. He reminds boaters and land-lovers alike “if you see something, please say something.”
