Speaking to the Perry Rotary Club Tuesday, Sen. Bill Montford warned that if the Florida Legislature does not begin focusing more on the needs of the state’s smaller counties, it could soon face a “rural county crisis.”
Montford said he was seeing a “wider and wider” divide between rural counties and urban ones as far as infrastructure, education, healthcare and other needs.
