Man charged with assault after running ex-girlfriend off the road, attacking her

Madison resident Jerry Franklin Sapp, 48, was arrested here Saturday, July 9, after a Taylor County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) investigation determined that, three days earlier, he allegedly ran his ex-girlfriend’s car into a ditch, broke the front driver’s window and punched her in the face.

The victim reported to Deputy J. Vinson that she “had been having on-going problems with her former boyfriend” in the past six months they had been separated.
