    2016-07-15-Quilt-Donation

When members of the Forest Capital Quilting Guild decided to make a quilt in honor of Taylor County’s 160th anniversary, they turned to the past for inspiration. The result is a colorful spread featuring thread spools, an old-fashioned milk can, Mason jars, bowls and spoons, a friendship heart and a chicken…all surrounded by quilting squares of vintage design.

The quilt, which the Guild donated to the Taylor County Historical Society, is now on display at Citizens State Bank. Residents have the opportunity to win the quilt in a drawing to be held at the society’s New Year’s Eve celebration. Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5. They are available at the bank, the historical society or from any Guild member.
