Local firefighters will soon have a live-fire training facility after the county received a $36,000 donation from the Georgia-Pacific Foundation and the Foley Cellulose Mill.
Public Relations Manager Scott Mixon presented the check to the Taylor County Commission last week, praising the leadership of Taylor County Fire-Rescue Chief Dan Cassel and GP Safety Manager Brian Miller in developing a plan for the facility.
