In contrast to the county commission’s 17-hour long budget workshops, the Perry City Council sailed through a review of its 2016-17 budget and, in less than 30 minutes, effected increases in natural gas fees.
The council, by unanimous vote, supported ending a “temporary “ gas rate discount that has been in place some 15 years, which means residential, school and commercial gas rates will increase by 10¢ per (hundred) cubic foot (a projected $8/month increase for households).
