After nearly 17 hours of budget workshops, the Taylor County Commission appears close to finalizing its preliminary budget, which will include a raise for most employees, funded through a slight increase in the county’s millage rates to make up for the drop in property values this year.
The board will hold what is expected to be a final workshop on Tuesday, Aug. 2, at 9 a.m. to hear the cost estimates of its proposed wage increases, followed by a special meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 3, to set proposed millage rates.
