Whether it’s chicken and dumplings, buttermilk biscuits or pound cake, residents are invited to share their favorite family dishes during a special “Homecoming” dinner at the Taylor County Historical Society Monday, Aug. 15.
“Since this is our 160th anniversary of the county’s founding, we thought it would be a great time to collect local family recipes and feature them in a cookbook,” President J.T. Davis said.
The covered dish dinner, which is free, will begin at 6 p.m., at the historical society museum located at the corner of Main Street and Washington.
“It is open to everyone. We extended a special invitation to our members and former members.”
The event will serve as an unofficial kick off for the society’s upcoming year.
