The Taylor County School District’s contract to run the Head Start was opened up to competition after the local program did not meet certain thresholds on the federal agency’s classroom assessment.
The district’s contract to run the program will end Sept. 30 after federal officials chose a different entity to provide those services. The identity of the winning applicant is still not publicly known and will not be announced until pre-award discussions are concluded, federal officials said.
