A former food service worker at Taylor Correctional Institution (TCI) will serve three years of probation for accepting money from an inmate as payment for drugs she allegedly smuggled into the facility for him.
Franchesca Smith, 28, of Mayo pled guilty to one charge of money laundering Monday under an agreement reached with the State Attorney’s Office. She also faced an “introduction of contraband” charge that the state agreed to dismiss under the plea.
