Judge Greg Parker, right, injected a moment of humor at Wednesday’s swearing-in ceremony for newly re-elected members of the Perry City Council. “The final line of the oath is ‘So help me God.’ But I see it as so HELP me God and I’m sure with this guidance you will do a fine job,” he said.

PHOTO: Mayor Mike Deming, who was unopposed in the election, congratulated returning members Venita Woodfaulk, left, and Shirlie Hampton. “On a personal note, I am excited we are all still here. We have done some great things together and I’m glad we are here for another four years. We have some experience under our belt we can now bring with us,” he said.
