Tax notices wrong

Taylor County residents received their Truth In Millage (TRIM) notices late last month, but it wasn’t until this week that local officials discovered they all show an incorrect millage rate for the Taylor County Commission, depicting a much higher rate than what the board is actually proposing.

The error, which Property Appraiser Bruce Ratliff said will not affect property owners’ actual tax bills when they are sent out later this year, went unnoticed until Monday evening during the commission’s first budget hearing.
