Portions of Big Bend WMA have re-opened

    Posted on September 16, 2016

Portions of the Big Bend Wildlife Management Area have re-opened after being temporarily closed due to Hurricane Hermine, according to an FWC press release.

In the Hickory Mound Unit, public access continues to be restricted to County Road 14 via Mossy Hammock Rd. and Martin Grade, as the portion of Cow Creek Grade owned by Four Rivers Land and Timber Company is still closed for construction.  Within the boundaries of the Hickory Mound Unit, all roads west of Cow Creek Grade and including the portion of Cow Creek Grade between the north WMA boundary and Swartz Tram are open, except for the portions of Coker Rd. lying south of Swartz Tram.
