When Hurricane Matthew blew evacuees toward the northwestern parts of Florida last week, First Presbyterian Church of Perry opened its doors wide. And its members opened their hearts.
On Thursday afternoon, the church was contacted by Taylor County Emergency Management to determine if it would function as a shelter site, opening at 6 p.m.
