The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) is continuing its efforts to create open water on Lake Miccosukee which is primarily in Jefferson County.
The FWC’s Aquatic Habitat Conservation and Restoration Section has been mechanically shredding undesirable vegetation and floating tussocks on about 60 acres in several locations on the lake. These areas were identified as prime locations to provide open-water habitat for
waterfowl.
